Privacy Policy for Opponent
Welcome to Opponent ("Opponent", "we", "our", or "us").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Opponent mobile application and related services.
Opponent is a platform that helps users find sports opponents, teammates, communities, and coaches nearby.
By using Opponent, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are
Opponent is operated by:
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name or nickname, your email address, your profile photo, and an authentication identifier that lets us recognise you when you return.
You can create an account using Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. Authentication is implemented through Firebase Authentication, provided by Google LLC, which acts as our authentication service provider.
Google Sign-In. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the following information from your Google Account: your name, your email address and its verification status, your profile picture URL, and a unique Google account identifier. We use this information only to create and secure your Opponent account, to recognise you on subsequent sign-ins, to prevent duplicate accounts, and to contact you about the service. We store this information as part of your account record, for as long as described in Section 7.
We do not request or receive access to any other data in your Google Account. We do not access your Google contacts, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Photos or YouTube data, and we never receive your Google password. We do not sell information received from Google, and we do not use it for advertising or transfer it to advertising networks or data brokers.
Opponent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can review or revoke Opponent's access to your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sign in with Apple. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive your name, which you may edit or choose not to share at the moment of sign-in, an email address, and a unique Apple user identifier. If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, we receive an anonymised relay address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com instead of your real address; in that case we never see your real email address, and messages we send are forwarded to you by Apple. We use this information for the same purposes described above, and we receive no other data from your Apple ID.
You can review or revoke Opponent's access on your device under Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Opponent.
Revoking access at Google or Apple stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete your Opponent account or the data associated with it. To delete your account and data, use the in-app deletion described in Section 8.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing this information is the performance of our contract with you, namely providing you with an account and access to the service.
